Dave Fennewald - Head Coach

Coach Fennewald is entering his 19th season as head coach of the Wildcats. Coach Fennewald is moving to the defensive side of the ball this year and is responsible for the defensive line as well as special teams coordinator. Coach Fennewald is the grandpa on the staff and expecting his 2nd grandson this November. Coach Fennewald came to Kansas in 1992 from South Dakota where he led the Colome Cowboys to a State Runner Up finish in 1987 and a State Championship in 1988. Coach Fennewald served as the linebacker coach at South Dakota State University for one season in 1989 before moving back to Colome for the 1990 and 1991 seasons. A graduate of Minot State University, in North Dakota, Coach Fennewald played one year of football at Minot State University before a knee injury ended his playing career. While attending Minot State, Coach Fennewald coached at his high school alma mater Bishop Ryan High School (1981) from 1982 - 1986. Coach Fennewald graduated in 1987 from MSU and currently teaches Weight Training and Psychology. Coach Fennewald is supported by his lovely bride Kim, Wichita Northwest (1983).
